When it comes to exercise, nutrition and medicine, it has long been assumed that women are just smaller versions of men. Very little research has been done specifically on women in these areas. This seems crazy given that women make up about 50% of the population! This lack of science-based information often means women are doing the wrong training, eating the wrong food, not reaching their full potential, and/or often suffering unnecessary discomfort and pain.
Most nutrition and training and health programs do not account for the menstrual cycle, where there are large, repetitive changes in hormone levels. I have been doing research in the areas of physiology and nutrition for over 25 years and I have a wealth of experience implementing practical, science-based interventions specifically for women. I have directly helped hundreds of women from all levels of ability as well as reached hundreds of thousands through my books, live presentations, and my online courses.
My mission is to help women better understand their bodies and elevate them in research, science, sport, and ultimately, in life.
Are you ready to use your physiology to your advantage?
If this aligns with you and you feel pulled to train like a woman to help yourself and others... let's do it!
My 'big' courses take you on a journey of learning through multiple topics that are all created and arranged to give you a fuller picture of women’s physiology. With this knowledge, you can go out and make positive changes in your life
Microlearning Courses are focused, bite-sized units of learning that take a deep dive into a very specific topic. These are for people new to my material and want to take small steps before buying one of my courses, or who are wanting to learn more on a specific topic.
What is the difference between my Courses and my Microlearning, and which one should I do first?
Everyone is talking
Having completed over 60 Ironmans, I can say with certainty learning how your body reacts to high endurance training and racing never stops. It’s discouraging to prepare for a race and have it derailed, not because you didn't do the work, but because your body didn't respond on that particular day. Dr. Sims will show you how you can take the steps to toe the start line with the best chance of delivering your maximum potential!
Along with Juliet, founders of San Francisco CrossFit, Mobility WOD, and The Ready State.

TEDx Talk: Women are Not Small Men
My vision is a world of healthy women who understand their bodies, know how to work with their unique physiology, know their periods are ergogenic aids and create positivity around being a woman in sport. Together we can shift the destructive narrative and elevate women in research, science, and sport.
Train WITH your physiology.
If you've felt like something is missing in your training or your coaching, understanding the physiology you're working with could be the game-changer you were looking for.
