Dr. Stacy Sims on the Mel Robbins Podcast

by Dr. Stacy Sims
Mar 27, 2025

I’m excited to share that my Mel Robbins podcast episode is now live! For as long as I can remember, I’ve been passionate about sharing female-specific knowledge and expertise that can make a difference to active women and everyone who works with them. Being a guest on a show as widely listened to as Mel’s is a huge step forward in helping to reach more active women and those who support them.

I really enjoyed the time spent with Mel and her team recording this episode a few weeks ago—and I’m also pleased to hear that Mel has since become a fan of my pre-workout protein coffee!

We cover a lot in this episode, including why fasting doesn’t work for women, the benefits of creatine, women and cold plunging, and a whole lot more.

Here's the show, The Body Reset: How Women Should Eat & Exercise for Health, Fat Loss, & Energy, which Mel and her team have called a "firecracker of an episode." If you enjoy it, please share it with someone else!

Next Gen Course: Arriving Soon!

My latest course, Next Gen, is due to go live in the second week of April. This course focuses on understanding the changes girls face through puberty and their teenage years so that you can better support them now and into the future. Since my daughter is in this age group, I have been particularly invested in researching this course. Next Gen is perfect for anyone who supports active teenage girls, including parents, coaches, trainers, teachers, and health professionals. If you’d like to learn more and/or join the waitlist, you can do so here.

Surgical Menopause at 47—Hannah’s Story

Earlier this month I had the incredible opportunity to connect with an amazing group of women in Denver and many of the stories I heard were not only inspiring but also deeply humbling. I’ve recently shared one of those stories on my YouTube channel; it’s the story of Hannah’s journey through medically induced menopause. Her experience is powerful, and I hope it resonates with you. Take a moment to watch, listen, and hopefully, find something helpful for your own path.

Beware AI Hacks & Scams

Unfortunately it seems that the AI hackers and scammers of the world have taken an interest in my work. We’ve recently seen an uptick in AI-generated scams and fake videos, many of which are pushing products that I am in no way connected with. I’d like to extend my sincere thanks to the many followers who alerted us to some of these videos, and please don’t hesitate to reach out if you see something that looks fake. If it’s not on a reputable site, it is probably fake! Please get in touch at support@drstacysims.com or send a DM on the relevant platform if you see something that looks off.

Why the Female Heart Responds Differently to Exercise
Note: This is an anatomical and physiological review, not medical advice. Anyone with concerns should see their healthcare provider. When you train consistently—whether it’s endurance training, speed work, or strength—your heart adapts. That adaptation, which is often referred to as “athlete’s heart,” is not a disease. It’s your cardiovascular system getting more efficient at pumping blood, d...
Why Active Women Need Creatine
There are very few supplements I recommend across the board. Creatine is one of them. For decades, creatine has been misunderstood as something only bodybuilders or elite male athletes use. That misconception has kept many women from one of the most well-researched, effective, and female-relevant supplements available. Creatine supports strength, power, muscle mass, brain health, bone integ...
Strength vs Muscle Size: What Women Need to Know
One of the questions I’m often asked is: How connected are building muscle and building strength? The short answer: they’re related, but not the same. You can increase strength without dramatically increasing muscle, and you can increase muscle without seeing proportional gains in strength. Research shows that early strength gains are largely driven by neural adaptations rather than muscle gr...
